Join us for a day of practical insights, open discussions and a closer look at the research behind SE Labs testing.
The SE Labs Workshop brings together security vendors and industry leaders to explore how the threat landscape is changing, what our testing is revealing and where security testing needs to go next.
It’s an opportunity to meet the people behind our research, ask questions, share your own experiences and help shape the future of independent cyber security testing.

Meet the people behind the testing
The Workshop is about more than listening to presentations.
It’s an opportunity to speak directly with the SE Labs researchers who design and carry out our tests, understand how we evaluate security products and discuss the findings that emerge from our research.
We want attendees to challenge our thinking, share their experiences and contribute to the direction of future testing.
It’s also an opportunity to spend time with people from other security vendors and enterprise organisations, exchanging ideas and building relationships in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
SE Labs often invites journalists and analysts to join the conversation, leading to wider understanding of testing in reviews, news and reports.
After the main event there are opportunities to socialise freely and continue the discussion
Workshop themes
What we’ll be discussing
This year’s Workshop will explore three areas of SE Labs research, with presentations from our testing team and opportunities for attendees to contribute to the discussion.
Threat intelligence: what attackers are doing now
Our testing is built around understanding how real attackers operate.
We’ll explore the techniques, behaviours and emerging threats we’re seeing, how the threat landscape is changing and how this intelligence shapes the attacks we use to evaluate security products.
We also want to hear what vendors are seeing themselves. By comparing our experiences, we can develop a better understanding of the threats that matter and how testing should reflect them.
AI in security: how should we test it?
AI is changing both attack and defence, and is becoming an increasingly important part of SE Labs research.
We’ll explore how AI is being used within security products and security operations, where it is making a meaningful difference and the challenges involved in testing its effectiveness.
We’ll share our thinking on future AI security testing and invite attendees to contribute their own perspectives. Our aim is to develop testing that provides useful, credible evidence of how these technologies perform.
What SE Labs is learning, and what comes next
From established endpoint testing to PIVOT, email security, scam testing, network security and emerging research, we’ll take a broader look at the work happening across SE Labs.
We’ll share what our testing is revealing about security products, where they are performing well, where challenges remain and how testing needs to evolve.
We’ll also explain what we’re working on next and give attendees an opportunity to discuss and influence our future research priorities.

The SE Labs Workshop 2027 will take place in Wimbledon, London, on Thursday 17 June 2027.
Attendance is free, with places available by invitation.
We expect to welcome attendees from approximately 9.30am, with presentations beginning at 10am. A detailed agenda and final timings will be shared nearer the event.
All presentations will be delivered by members of the SE Labs team.
The Workshop will be held entirely in person, with no live online participation. We believe the greatest value comes from being in the room, participating in the discussions and meeting the people involved.
Presentations will be recorded and made available on the SE Labs YouTube channel shortly after the event.
The day will conclude with a brief SE Labs Annual Awards photo opportunity, followed by drinks and dinner.
