Fortinet FortiEndpoint achieved a 100% Total Accuracy Rating in SE Labs’ latest Enterprise Advanced Security test. FortiEndpoint blocked almost every attack at the execution stage and prevented all subsequent attack phases from running, earning itself a AAA Award.
SE Labs evaluated how effectively FortiEndpoint protected against full-chain targeted attacks based on the tactics, techniques and procedures of the Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) groups Gamaredon Group, Ember Bear, Evasive Panda and DPRK. FortiEndpoint provided excellent protection against threats typically waged by these state-sponsored groups.
“Advanced security products need to do more than simply detect isolated malicious files,” comments Simon Edwards, CEO and founder of SE Labs. “Our testing follows full attack chains so we can see whether products stop real-world breach attempts early enough to matter. FortiEndpoint delivered excellent protection against a diverse set of targeted attacks.”
The report found that FortiEndpoint acted primarily as a “stopper”. The execution stage of a targeted attack is when the number of threat elements increase exponentially. FortiEndpoint prevented threat elements from executing and stopped persistent attacks before they could progress through later stages such as privilege escalation, lateral movement and data theft.
FortiEndpoint also achieved a 100% Legitimate Accuracy Rating, meaning it did not wrongly block or interfere with legitimate applications or websites during testing.
